Itinerary

This 21 day trip commences in the vibrant hub of Johannesburg where you have the chance to immerse yourself in the troubled yet fascinating history of South Africa in some of the most gripping and thought provoking museums in the world.

Following this introduction to the country we head to the vast Kruger National Park for an unforgettable safari experience. Often heralded as the No. 1 national park in the world for its phenomenal variety in species including the big 5 (lions, leopards, elephants, Buffalo, Rhinos) it will certainly leave you with incredible memories for the rest of your life.

The tour continues south for a stop off in the Royal Natal National Park within the jaw dropping Drakensberg Mountain Range. Mountain biking, trekking and abseiling allow visitors to view the awe-inspiring landscapes, most notably the magical, jagged curve of the Amphitheatre.

In a country that offers every landscape imaginable we next travel along the spectacular garden route with Cape Town as our final destination. Along the way you will experience traditional Zulu and Xhosa culture sharing meals with tribal chiefs and make an appointment with the local witch doctor!!

We then move on to Plettenberg Bay for a stop at our affiliated wildlife charity's home. TASWA Challenge works closely with Touch a Monkey's Heart Foundation, which provides a sanctuary for previously caged primates. The aim of the sanctuary is to rehabilitate these primates and educate visitors in the importance of preserving their way of life and the threats that they face. We will visit the sanctuary and you can see exactly how the donations you have made are being used to develop the sanctuary and ensure many more primates are protected.

From here on in it's time to turn it up a notch as we attempt the extreme sport of sand boarding, learn to surf at the home of the Billabong World Championships, Jeffrey's Bay and take the ultimate leap of faith off the Bloukrans Bridge...officially the world's highest bungee jump!  And all of this before we indulge in one of the most adrenalin pumping wildlife experiences imaginable!!  Diving with Great White Sharks - if you dare!

Moving inland you will visit the wine lands of Stellenbosch and taste all that the area has to offer in a tour of some of South Africa's finest wineries(usually a lively affair!!) before travelling to one of the most stunning cities in Africa, Cape Town. Visit Robben Island, the prison where Nelson Mandela was held captive for 18 years, climb the magnificent Table Mountain, tour the rugged tip of the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and experience a truly exhilarating, fast paced, cosmopolitan night life for those who have the energy left!

This mouth-watering adventure experience promises to satisfy adrenalin junkies as well as anyone who's been sheltering in their comfort zone for too long. So for a real cutting edge trip come join us on Fear Factor, South Africa 2008.....
