Responsible Tourism
TASWA Challenge and responsible tourism.
Here at TASWA Challenge we recognise the importance of minimising the negative impact we have on a country in which we are visiting. It is crucial that we ensure we abide by certain guidelines so that we help to preserve the environment and local culture for many generations of locals and visitors to enjoy in the future.
We do this by following five key objectives as part of the TASWA Challenge Travel Code of Conduct :
- Protect the Environment - Simply not littering and tidying up after your self can go along way to benefiting the environment.
- Respect Local Cultures - Please remember that cultures and religions in some of the countries we visit may differ vastly from those we are used to in the UK. It is important to respect these, often they will be the fundamental pillars of a community. You will always be welcomed warmly if you adopt this stance.
- Benefit Local Communities - We will always utilise local produce wherever possible. From purchasing food to textiles this helps to keep revenue within a local community.
- Conserve Natural Resources - Whether it be conserving water as much as possible or minimising the use of firewood one individual can have a genuine impact upon a local community's natural resources.
- Minimise Pollution - We ensure that the waste disposal is always taken care of in a proper and respectful fashion.
